Characters are the people, animals, creatures or any other living being that appears in and plays part in a story.

Characters will always fit into three groups:

  • Protagonists - The main characters, the perspective of which the story is usually told in first, second or third person view.
  • Antagonists - The rivals of the protagonists. These range from the menial single enemy right from the puppet master behind the whole plot.
  • Supporting - These characters are usually inserted to move the story forwards, halt its progress or later it in some other way. They can range from being the lowly servant of the main antagonist, or the young recruit of the protagonists' team.
